Jerry Folk Shares Surprise "Sneeze EP"

Jerry Folk Shares Surprise “Sneeze EP”

Surprise! New Jerry Folk!

Well, April is off to an awesome start. Jerry Folk, who’s Leisure Tapes project made it into our Top 5 albums of last year, just surprised us all with the drop of his new EP Sneeze, and, as he seemingly always does, he baked up another something sweetFeaturing four incredibly catchy and Jerry-esque tracks, Sneeze is a great step forward for Folk. Listen to the full 10-minute EP now and you can find “Most People” and “Sneeze” from Jerry Folk on our Tasty! Jams playlists for April.

Jerry Folk Drops New EP “Leisure Tapes”

Upon the opening seconds of “All in Me” you’ll be engulfed.

Jerry Folk has a way with sounds. He’s able to do things with sound that you’d probably normally find annoying but on Leisure Tapes seem magical. Since hearing the first single, “Another Night“, I knew I was going to vibe with this project — I just didn’t know how much.

Sticking with Kanye West’s unbreakable seven song format, the EP feels quick yet cohesive. Jerry Folk seems to excel most when he is able to freely explore his sound and on Leisure Tapes he does exactly that while also giving off the impression that he’s found that ever-elusive “sound” that every artist tries to capture. The songs all sound similarly yet drastically different. While they all portray the same overall vibe Folk explores different moods as the project goes on. By the time we hit the halfway point and transition on “Lesson” we lose lots of the happy-go-lucky feeling that was brought on by “Sweetness On My Tongue” and replace it with a dark paranoia. As “Bakers” rolls in you’ll feel the fading synth and repeated notes bouncing back and forth between your ears with a hint of dismay before Jerry closes you out telling you on the final track to, well, “Give In”.

In the end, you’ll hit play again because you’ll feel left wanting more but Folk delivered the perfect amount here to bring you that feeling. It’s just a taste, but it’ll leave you with a bit of “Sweetness On Your Tongue”.

You can find more than half the songs off the EP — “Another Night“, “Sweetness On My Tongue”, “Bakers”, and “Lesson” — on our Tasty! Jams playlists.

Jerry Folk Releases New Single “Bakers”

Jerry Folk dropped this addictive third single off of his upcoming project.

“Bakers” sounds like a skipping disc — but it’s the only skipping disc in the world you want to keep listening to. Following “Sweetness On My Tongue” and “Another Night”, The repetitive nature of the track doesn’t ever make the song seem boring or too consistent instead it does exactly the opposite, keeping you on your toes as Folk hits you repeatedly with the same beeping sound, growing every time. And after that description you better go and listen now! You can find “Baked” from Jerry Folk on our Tasty! Jams playlists for August 2018.

In One Day We Got New Chance, Two Feet, BROCKHAMPTON, Tyler, The Creator, And More

In One Day We Got New Chance, Two Feet, BROCKHAMPTON, Tyler, The Creator, And More

Yesterday started as just a Wednesday and ended as one of the best days for music in recent memory.

Last month might have been the best month for music in a long time. We got 5 new albums from Kanye, a Jay Z and Beyoncé joint project, a Drake double album, a Vacationer album, a Jay Rock album, and so, so, much more. Before July even started it looked like an underdog but after today, I don’t know what’s real anymore. Here’s a full summary of all the big releases that happened yesterday:

Chance The Rapper Came Through With 4 New Songs

HE DID NOT DISAPPOINT

Chance The Rapper may not have dropped an album this week like he previously said he would but DAT SHIT DONT MATTER he just dropped 4 filthy, delicious, TASTY! JAMS. You can find all four songs, “I Might Need Security”, “Work Out”, “Wala Cam”, “65th & Ingleside”, on our Tasty! Jams playlists.

Two Feet Dropped Emotional New Song “Hurt Yourself”

Two Feet is back and he’s more emotional than ever.

If you follow Two Feet on social media at all you’d know that recently he’s been very open about his struggles with his mental health, which only made this song so fitting for his musical journey. Featuring Madison Love, Two Feet tweeted out a few days ago that he’d be releasing a song that was very personal to him and this is clearly it. “Hurt People” still has the classic Two Feet guitar solos and overall feel but it definitely shows a shift in attitude. Listen for yourself if you feel like a good head banging cry.

BROCKHAMPTON Released A New Song And Video “1998 TRUMAN”

The boys are back.

After their recent comeback performance on Jimmy Fallon’s show and then the release of the similarly named “1999 WILDFIRE” last week shows that they are back in full force after parting with Ameer Vann.

Jerry Folk Released A Sweet Song “Sweetness on My Tongue”

Jerry Folk drops the second single from his forthcoming EP and it’s just as good, if not better, than the first.

Since hearing “Another Night” we’ve been anxiously awaiting more music from Jerry Folk and he has delivered once again. “Sweetness on My Tongue” sounds like it was made by the robot from Kaytranada’s “Lite Spots” video. From start to finish the song is a bouncy joyride that will have you hitting that repeat button, well, repeatedly.

Tyler, The Creator Throws Out Another Track “BRONCO”

Tyler has been delivering new songs on almost a weekly basis and “BRONCO” is just the latest addition.

The total count now stands at 7. Counting “BRONCO”, 7 original songs that Tyler has decided to just drop at random intervals. “BRONCO” is by far the shortest of the 7, which he’s referred to as “throwaway tracks”. At this rate, we’ll have a full Tyler, The Creator album in a few weeks– and I mean, hell, 7 songs seems to be enough for a full album based on recent trends. Either way, “BRONCO” shows that Tyler is still at the top of his game and still making new music every day.

Billie Eilish Has All The Power On “you should see me in a crown”

Billie Eilish is not fucking around.

The young singer, who has seen a meteoric rise to fame over the past few months, just released her third song in as many months. After recently working with Khalid, Billie is back on her own brining out her classic angsty sound. With all the recent music let’s hope this is leading up to another full length project.

Taylor Bennet Drops New Album “Be Yourself”

Chance’s little brother couldn’t miss out on all the fun.

Taylor Bennet decided to add another six songs to the Bennet brother’s Wednesday contributions and, I’ll be honest, I haven’t even gotten the chance to fully listen to Be Yourself because, you know, scroll up.

Jerry Folk Drops "Another Night" And Announces New EP Leisure Tapes

Jerry Folk Drops “Another Night” And Announces New EP Leisure Tapes

After more than a year without any original music, Jerry Folk is back.

Since he released Purple Evenings last year the only music that Jerry Folk has given us have been reworks and edits. Granted, they’ve been some of the coolest quick edits we’ve heard in a long time but all they did was make us crave a little more. Finally, Folk delivered. Yesterday he gifted us with this this beautiful, downtempo af, piece, “Another Night”. Last week, after announcing his new EP, Folk released a song called “Jorja” that seemed to be a throwaway track inspired by Jorja Smith’s new album, at least, according to his tweet. You can find “Another Night” on our Tasty! Jams playlists for June.
