Easy Life Drop Wavy New Song “Dead Celebrities” Ahead of Album Release

“Dead Celebrities” comes just two days before Easy Life’s mixtape Junk Food.

UK indie rockers Easy Life have shared a new track ahead of their mixtape release this Friday. “Dead Celebrities” is a woozy jam that follows the group’s Arlo Parks collaboration “Sangria” and their “Nice Guys” release and tour announcement. In a tweet about the track the band wrote “our new single dead celebrities is a song about pop culture and the obscure but dangerously relevant link between death and stardom.” The song also came alongside a video which premiered over at The Fader, which you can watch in full here. Lead man Murray had a bit to say about the video as well: “Set in L.A., the song comments on the ‘plastic cemeteries’ and ‘broken bones’ that the modern world can leave behind and how the gossip mag generation is shitty and profoundly flawed.” You can find “Dead Celebrities” from Easy Life on our Tasty! Jams playlists.

Easy Life was recently named one of PB & Good Jams 10 Best New Artists of 2019.

The two UK sensations team for this new jam.

Easy Life won’t stop. And I don’t want them to. The Leicester boys have spent the last few months playing shows and festivals across the world and releasing an array of amazing tunes like “Earth” and “Houseplants”, as well as their Spaceships Mixtape and the recently released “Nice Guys.” Now they’re back alongside UK’s other big up and coming name, Arlo Parks with “Sangria”. Together, they’re magical, bringing forth a jazzy gem.

Easy Life’s frontman Murray had a bit to say about “Sangria, noting that the song “is about emotional dependency, and missing someone bitterly. Even though sometimes the triggers that remind you of someone aren’t always healthy, these are often still the most potent and desirable. It’s a love song in its rawest form yet contains undertones of something slightly sinister. Arlo is able to express this delicate paradox with me and she is the only person I can imagine sharing this sentiment with so perfectly.”

Arlo adds “I was a massive fan of the Easy Life boys – they had this groove and this energy that was really refreshing. We kept just missing each other at festivals and chatting over Instagram then Murray popped a demo over to me – as soon as I heard that hip-hop reminiscent beat with that buttery flow I was obsessed. At first I recorded my verse on this £30 mic I have in my bedroom – I wanted to convey that wistfulness of puppy love and the frustration of never having the person you’re obsessed with around. They’re such lovely boys and I feel blessed to be part of such a sentimental, cute tune.”

In addition to the song we got a video and the announcement of a new Easy Life mixtape JUNK FOOD, out January 10th via Interscope Records, right in time to kick off the boys North American tour, which you can see all the dates for below. Easy Life Premiere Inspiring New Song "Earth" On BBC1

Easy Life Share Inspiring Video For New Song “Earth”

Easy Life have the hottest record on the “Earth”

Today, Easy Life, the UK band who’s exploded on to the scene in recent months, premiered their new song “Earth” on BBC 1 Radio. The song is heavily inspired by current events in the world, with Murray and Sam stopping by the BBC studio to introduce the track, saying “The world is a pretty messed up place and we wanted to write a song about that. So we did.” Sam added on, “You hear so much about the world having things wrong with it and as an individual you feel very powerless in this situation and I guess it’s trying to capture that.” It begins at 19:30.

The track itself has that instantly classic “Easy Life-feel” to it and, somehow, beautifully samples the “have you ever had a dream like this?” kid. Referencing spaceships and “crash landings” in the chorus of the track, the song feels very connected to the group’s recent Spaceships Mixtape. Previously, Easy Life shared two jazzy jams “Houseplants” and “Spaghetti Hoops”, and are currently performing at a string of festivals. You can find “Earth” from Easy Life on our Tasty! Jams playlists.
