Earlier this week, Four Tet announced his new album Sixteen Oceans and now he’s shared the new track “Baby” featuring a sample of Ellie Goulding.
In 2019, he shared a pair of live albums as well as a three-track project, Anna Painting, and a few singles like “Dreamer,” “Teenage Birdsong” and his Nelly Furtado remix “Only Human,” which made our 30 Best Songs of 2019.

This morning Four Tet followed up on his tweet from yesterday, in which he just stated “the new album is done,” by sharing a photo of a sticky note with the album title, track listing and release date.
Due out in March of this year Sixteen Oceans will include a fitting sixteen new songs and marks Kieran Hebden’s first new album since 2017’s New Energy. That’s not to say he hasn’t been keeping busy though. Last year he shared a pair of live albums as well as a three-track project, Anna Painting, and a few singles like “Dreamer,” “Teenage Birdsong” and his Nelly Furtado remix “Only Human.”
Dan Snaith of Caribou who announced his own comeback album last month also commented on the announcement adding “It’s always a good year when Kieran and I release albums close to one another…”

Kieran Hebden never fails to mesmerize. With his newest release as Four Tet the English producer teamed up with painter and longtime friend Anna Liber Lewis to make paintings that reflected the music, appropriately titled Anna Painting. Hebden explained further in his press release, saying “Anna and I have known each other almost all our lives. We grew up in London with overlapping social circles and shared early music experiences as teenagers. The collaboration unfolded over several months. We worked in tandem from conversation and correspondence. I made music and Anna responded to it with drawings and paintings, apart from the last track, which I made after having seen her work. It was performed and exhibited at a show called Muscle Memory at the Elephant West gallery in London in early 2019.”
The release follows a string of singles from the eclectic producer. First this year he shared his remix of Nelly Furtado’s “Afraid,” “Only Human,” under his moniker KH, he followed up with “Teenage Birdsong” and then “Dreamer.” You can find “Anna Painting” on our Tasty! Jams playlists.
This morning Four Tet shared the exhilarating jam “Dreamer.” Four Tet has been on a roll as of late. Not counting his long line of festival performances, including his Coachella set that I was able to catch in April, this marks his third new track of the year following “Teenage Birdsong” and his Nelly Furtado remix “Only Human.” “Dreamers” has that classic Four Tet-feel to it and will keep you on your toes for the entire run time.
