On "Deliverance" Goldwash Truly Delivers A Beautiful Listen

On “Deliverance” Goldwash Truly Delivers A Beautiful Listen

Goldwash’s newest puts his best features on full display.

On his first new single since 2019, Goldwash comes through with a precisely perfect blend of orchestral elements and spinning sounds. Originally from Baltimore and now living in LA, producer, singer, and songwriter Gabe Acheson first made waves with his Goldwash project back in 2016 with a pair of EPs. In 2019 he released his debut album Flat Earth Surf Club, including PB & Good Jam favorites “Set In Motion” and “Over Again,” which also features Acheson’s similarly talented brother Baird. While we may not have seen much from Goldwash in the past year, Acheson has certainly been busy. After collaborating with artists like Berhana, Flo Milli, and Kojey Radical, he’s back to work on his solo project, dropping “Deliverance” for our listening pleasure.

“Deliverance” is a beautiful track that really shows off Acheson’s songwriting abilities with a gorgeous blend of orchestral strings that ride perfectly off his vocals. The songs opens softly and ends the same with an elegant orchestral outro featuring violins and violas performed by Mohammad Rjoub and Olivia Salas.

Here’s a few words Acheson had to say about the track:

“‘Deliverance’ came from an idea I’d been kicking around for a while, but the song solidified during early lockdown. The main riff sounds to me like spinning around in circles, which is kinda what the song is about; changing perspective and passing time but still not going anywhere. It was a challenge to get the remotely-recorded string parts at the end to fit together like a real orchestra, but ultimately it worked out through detailed arrangement and great playing.”

Goldwash Gets Tangled Up In New Music Video For "Set In Motion"

Goldwash Gets Tangled Up In New Music Video For “Set In Motion”

Goldwash shared the gorgeous new video for the track off Flat Earth Surf Club.

“Set In Motion” is the second single from Goldwash‘s full-length debut, Flat Earth Surf Clubwhich dropped back in August. The funky track is now treated to a visual accompaniment in the form of this beautifully shot music video that finds Goldwash crossing through town collecting telephone wire, leading him where he needs to be.

Goldwash had a bit to say about the making of the music video, adding that the “making the ‘Set in Motion’ music video was a totally wild process. We shot it on 16mm film on Long Island across four days. We starting before dawn and ended after sunset to get the perfect golden-hour lighting, and used over a mile of telephone cable. It took a lot of love from an incredibly dedicated crew (especially co-directors Sam Cutler-Kreutz and Josh Sondock), but I think we pulled off a video that tells a vivid story and also enhances the weirdness of the original song.”

Goldwash Drops Debut Album "Flat Earth Surf Club"

Goldwash Delivers Yet Again With Soothing New Song “Over Again”

The third single from his upcoming debut features his brother, Baird.

Goldwash has been sharing some incredible music over the past few months, including the lovely “You Don’t Wanna Feed The Fire Anymore” and the jammy “Set In Motion,” and now he’s done it “Over Again.” The third single from his upcoming debut album Flat Earth Surf Club, due out sometime next month, features an infectious guitar riff performed by Goldwash’s actual brother who also makes some fun dream-pop music as Baird. Goldwash actually shared a pretty funny photo of the two performing at what looks to be their school talent show from 2009, captioning the photo “April, 2009- the Acheson hermanos shelve an early version of Over Again when the keyboard stretch proves too far at a school show. Now that Gabe is older and can reach, they’ll finally release the song Thursday.” Thankfully they did release the track and, all jokes aside, it’s a wonderful slow jam that will still keep you engaged with a powerful melody. You can find “Over Again” from Goldwash and Baird on our Tasty! Jams playlists.

Previously, Goldwash also scored Tasty! Jams for 2017’s “Episode” and last year’s “Rhythm Is Frozen.”

Goldwash Gets "Set In Motion" On Wavy New Song

Goldwash Gets “Set In Motion” On Wavy New Song

Wash away all the bad vibes with this new one from Goldwash.

“Set In Motion” is the second single from Goldwash‘s upcoming full-length debut, Flat Earth Surf Club, due out in August. “Set In Motion” gracefully transitions and “moves” as the song progresses, flowing along with a funky bass line before utilizing synths and vocals to build up to a closing crescendo that had me feeling like the track was a cut off of Blonde. Following the beautifully composed “You Don’t Wanna Feed The Fire Anymore,” Goldwash keeps some of those same angelic vibes and light keys while adding gooey guitars to really get everything…. “Set In Motion.”

You can find “Set In Motion” from Goldwash on our Tasty! Jams playlists for June and keep on the lookout for his debut album this August. Previously, Goldwash scored Tasty! Jams with “Rhythm Is Frozen” and “Episode”, making this his fourth appearance on our Tasty! Jams playlists.
