Bon Iver Announce New Album & Share Two New Songs “Faith” & “Jelmore”

i,i will be out August 30th.

Justin Vernon’s Bon Iver have announced the followup to 22, A Million. The album, titled i,i will be out on August 30th via Jagjaguwar. Along with the announcement came two new singles, “Faith” and “Jelmore” which feature Buddy Ross, Francis Starlite, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus and Bryce Dessner. The announcement follows a pair of releases that Bon Iver shared last month, “Hey Ma” and “U (Man Like),” and a string of recently announced tour dates. With the announcement we got the album’s art and track list as well as a short message from Vernon.

He spoke about the upcoming album saying “feels very much like the most adult record, the most complete. It feels like when you get through all this life, when the sun starts to set, and what happens is you start gaining perspective. And then you can put that perspective into more honest, generous work.” Further echoing the seasonal references he gave his records in a cryptic trailer that was shared last week. He adds that it was recorded  “over a long time at April Base in Wisconsin” and “can mean whatever it means to you or me. It can mean deciphering and bolstering one’s identity. It can be how important the self is and how unimportant the self is, how we’re all connected.”

You can find “Faith” and “Jolene” on our Tasty! Jams playlists for July.
